Di bell’aspetto e piuttosto viziato, ritardatario cronico, non ha nessuna intenzione di rinunciare al ruolo di scapolo e dongiovanni. Chicca del film il cameo di Rowan Atkinson – alias Mr Bean – nel ruolo secondario di un prete alle prime armi e divertentissimo. Il mio grasso grosso matrimonio greco Una famiglia ingombrante fa da sfondo ai preparativi per un esilarante matrimonio tra la non bellissima e un po’ impacciata Toula, di origini greche e Ian, insegnante di inglese vegetariano e americanissimo, che con la Grecia non ha proprio nulla a che fare. L’amore, ovviamente, trionferà, in barba alle differenze culturali tra le famiglie dei futuri sposi. Una delle commedie che ha incassato di più nella storia del cinema con una sceneggiatura che tiene attaccati allo schermo, scritto – particolarità – dal’ attrice protagonista Nia Verdalos. Succede nel film di Burshtein, in cui la protagonista Michal si trova ad affrontare un problema transculturale (essere abbandonate all’altare) sfidando ostacoli specifici (regole e tradizioni della società ebrea ortodossa). Ti presento i miei Un divertentissimo e molto sfortunato Ben Stiller alle prese con il padre della neo fidanzata, nientemeno che Robert De Niro, ex agente della CIA in pensione. Scenario: il matrimonio del perfetto ex fidanzato della figlia. Un azzeccatissimo incontro tra un mito del cinema e un ottimo attore brillante, risate assicurate e alcune scene ormai cult.
